A separate sheet of paper is taped to back on which is typed: "IMMEDIATE RELEASE / USS POLLUX HERO TAKE OATH AS ENSIGN / Isaac H. Strauss, former New York athlete and third class / quartermaster on the USS POLLUX, is shown taking the oath as an Ensign / from Commander Hugh W. Turney, former commanding officer of the / POLLUX.
