Equipped with a stepped-up diesel power plant and an underwater/ breathing tube (snorkel), she cruises faster submerged than on the surface./ To preserve her streamlining, she carries no deck gun. For increased maneuveraility under the water, the postwar attack sub-/ marines are shorter than the fleet submarines of World War II. The Trigger/ is 268 feet in length, displaces 1,800 tons and has six torpedo tubes. She/ was launched June 14, 1951." Enclosed in portfolio 2003.92.22.
