35mm color slide from voyage of brigantine ALBATROSS 1960-1961; photographed by Richard E. Langford who was a teacher aboard the vessel when it sank May 2, 1961; he used slides in this collection (2002.35.1-657) for lectures about the sinking. The following transcription is from Richard Langford Collection AV 193:2002-5,6: [TCR 01:54:11]:
“Now that’s the pulled out desk in my and John Perry’s--the math teacher’s--stateroom. Now there are two bunks, one upper, one lower behind (uses light pointer). I slept in the upper and kept books and stored stuff in the lower one, and back this way toward us, two more bunks, which were John Perry’s bunks. [Question in background: Is that John Perry?] That is John Perry doing some math work there. Every time I see this picture I remember that old shirt jacket I had (uses light pointer), that plaid over there, which I of course don’t have any more."
