5x7 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the Governor's Race in 1936. Image of SONNY, sail #69, undersail, port quarter view is a closeup taken from an elevated position from another vessel looking down at the deck with ladies sunning themselves and crew members at work. SONNY was a 53'6" auxiliary cutter designed by Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. and built by Robert Jacob, Inc. of City Island, New York in 1935 and was owned in 1936 by Albert D. Phelps.
