Photograph; black-and-white photograph from port side of POLLUX (built 1939) after shipwreck, February 1942; cables in foreground on the POLLUX, snow covered cliffs in the background; from Henry Strauss transcript in Sound Archives: "This is taken from the port side of the POLLUX, showing how close we were to the rocks. It does not show the shoot of water between the ship and the rocks. [This was taken while there were still men on the POLLUX?] Oh, yeah ... a guy by the name of Cady, who was a radioman who gave me the prints ... they were used in "Standing into Danger," the book ... he evidently must have been killed in the war."
