WORDEN (DD-352, built 1934), destroyer; front of envelope has no cachet; stamp features portrait of George Washignton in profile, printed on stamp "UNITED STATES POSTAGE/ WASHINGTON/ 2 CENTS 2"; stamp postmarked "U.S.S./ JUL/ 10/ 1935/ WORDEN." and "GUANTANAMO/ CUBA"; address handwritten on front "Albert Danter/ 4769a Easton Ave./ St. Louis, Mo., U.S.A."; stamped on back "SUNK". The U.S.S. WORDEN downed one bomber during the attack on Pearl Harbor and was undamaged (see correspondence file).
