Washstand; Washstand cabinet, 1864; from the collection of Captain Richard C. Mears (1829-1899); wooden washstand cabinet with removable marble top and splashboard; once marble top is removed, the sliding drawer in the top portion of the cabinet can be accessed; there is a lock on the top, front portion of the cabinet to secure the top drawer (lock has been taped down); front of cabinet has two hinged, paneled doors which open to reveal a large storage area under the top drawer, and have a lock to secure them shut; spooled front corners on the front top of the cabinet, with graduated spooling opposite of this on the bottom front corners; bottom of cabinet has four bracket feet with wheels attached under them (wheel of back, right leg is missing).
