Mears (1829-1899); two photographs housed in a union case, most likely of Francis Johnson (the stepmother of Capt. Mears), and Thomas Mears (the father of Capt. Mears); image on left side is most likely of Francis Johnson; photographs housed in Union Case; printed on lefthand side (under photograph of Francis Johnson) "Littlefield, Parsons & Co.,/ MANUFACTURERS OF/ Daguerreotype Cases/ L., P. & Co., are the sole/ Proprietors and only legal Manu-/ facturers of UNION CASES, with the/ Embracing Riveted Hinge,/ Patented October 14, 1856/ and April 21, 1857."; the same thing is most likely printed underneath the image on the right hand side as well (not removed in an effort to prevent more damage).
