Daguerreotype; Agnes Blackwell, before 1860 (see Manuscript coll. 311); from the collection of Captain Richard C. Mears (1829-1899); photograph most likely of Agnes Blackwell, a longtime friend of Mears (he attempted to court her on many occasions, to which she continually declined); most likely sent with a letter from Blackwell to Mears, dated August 6, 1855, sent from Days Neck, Virginia; interior left side has a stamped velvet insert.
