35mm color slide photographed by Stanley Z. Rosenfeld in September of 1983 in Newport Harbor, Rhode Island. Image is a long shot of the harbor taken from the water looking at the vessels at the docks and buildings in the town. The large Australian flag is flying from the mast of CHALLENGE 12 which has been hauled out to dry with a ships lift. The mast also has a green flag with a light tan kangaroo with red boxing gloves on it. CHALLENGE 12, sail #KA10, was a 63' Australian 12 meter class sloop built by Steven Ward of Australia from designs in 1982 by Alan Payne, Ben Lexcen and Robert Miler. She participated in the America's Cup 1983 trials but was not chosen to challenge for the Cup.
