Image of VIM, right foreground, overlapping GLEAM, left, on a port tack, port stern quarter view, close reach, main and jib, calm sea. VIM was a 12 meter sloop, #US15, built in 1939 by H.B. Nevins in City Island, New York from designs by Sparkman and Stephens and owned in 1958 by John N. Matthews. GLEAM was a 67' 11" 12 meter sloop, sail #US11, built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc., of City Island, New York from designs by Clinton Hoadley Crane in 1937 and was owned in 1958 by W. Mahlon Dickerson. Mount info. embossed: "MAY 58".
