35mm color slide photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in May of 1958. Image of GLEAM, foreground, port beam view, port tack, windward, reaching, overlapping VIM in the background, leeward and same tack. Crew of both vessels working on deck, mainsails running free and jibs set. VIM was a 70' 12 meter sloop, #US15, built in 1939 by H.B. Nevins in City Island, New York from designs by Sparkman and Stephens and owned in 1958 by John N. Mathews. GLEAM was a 67' 11" 12 meter sloop, sail #US11, built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc., of City Island, New York from, designs by Clinton Hoadley Crane in 1937 and owned in 1958 by W. Mahlon Dickerson. Mount info. processors' stamp: "Made in U.S.A. / (red) 22".
