The vessel is the 24' Roger McAleer designed Raven Class centerboard sloop VINKY, believed to have been built by Cape Cod Shipbuilding Company of Wareham, Massachusetts. Image of VINKY, sail #31, after overturning with the four crew sitting and lying on the bottom of the hull waiting for rescue. Stamped on the original negative sleeve: "127170F / JUL 18 1950 / LARCHMONT RACE-WEEK / 1950 / [Box] 5118" and handwritten: "Sinking Boat / Raven #31".
