Mears (1829-1899); two small uniform buttons, possibly military, most likely for buttoning a uniform's sleeve, connected to each other by a wire loop; on the top of each button is an image of an anchor, with the letters "S S H" above, and a rope-like edge; printed on the underside of each button is "BARNUM & CO./ N.Y."
