35mm copy color slide made from the original 35mm color slide by Rosenfeld and Sons in August of 1977 off Newport, Rhode Island of the 12 Meter Class sloop, FRANCE 2, sail #F2, undersail, starboard beam view on a mild port tack showing the deck and crew on board; mainsail is close-hauled and spinnaker is set. FRANCE II, also written on the vessel side as FRANCE 2, was a 63'6" Twelve Meter Class sloop designed by Andre Maruic of Marseille, France and built by H. Egger of Pontarlier, France in 1976 for Baron Marcel Bich and the syndicate "l´Association Francaise pour la Coupe de l´America" to represent France in the trials for the 1977 America's Cup.
