ROARING SEAL, also known as ROARIN' SEAL, was a 30'3" auxiliary cutter built in 1945 by Palmer Scott Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts from designs by S.S. Crocker. Owner in 1949 was Ruth A. Wells. From left to right: unidentified man at wheel, Robert "Bob" Wells at the port rail; Ada "Happy" Wells, wife of Bob Wells in the cockpit next to Bob, then 2 unidentified men, John Wells standing next to cabin opening and then Ruth Wells on the deck port side.
