COMET was a 37' 6" International Six Meter Class rated sloop, sail #48, later renamed SILROC by 1934 and was built in 1930 by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York from designs by Sparkman and Stephens, Inc. Typed negative sleeve: "39007-F / 5/1/30 / 6 metre 48" and handwritten, "Comet / Box 2778".
