North River, with steam lighter Clifford, lying at anchor, doing such damage that the Clifford immediately sunk. The Clifford was raised and put on dry dock and repaired. Damage estimated, $10,000. No lives lost. There was a dense fog at the time, and the Clifford had just anchored as the fog was too thick to proceed."
