Image shows a starboard bow view of COLUMBIA undersail with spinnaker set. COLUMBIA was a 69'7" 12 Meter sloop, sail #US16, built for the America's Cup defense in 1958 by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York from designs by Olin Stephens of Sparkman and Stephens and rigged by Rod Stephens. Her first owner was the Henry Sears Syndicate of the New York Yacht Club. Information stamped on the original negative sleeve: "162153F / AMERICA'S CUP / 1958 / [Box] 5690" and written in pencil: "Columbia / 2". CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
