8x10 gelatin silver print by Rosenfeld and Sons made from an 8x10 negative. The original negative is missing. Image shows the start of the first heat of the Gold Cup Race during the Manhasset Bay Regatta on August 21, 1926. Image shows a port beam view of eight inboard racers underway at high speed. From left to right they are UNIDENTIFIED, BABY WATER CAR #G34, MISS COLUMBIA #G1, IMP #G14, BABY BOOTLEGGER #G5, SHADOW VITE #G12, UNIDENTIFIED (possibly GREENWICH FOLLY #G8), and #G35 (possibly DETROIT WATER CAR). Miscellaneous vessels and a treed shoreline are in the background.
