5x7 glass negative photographed by Morris Rosenfeld on June 11, 1923, at the time of the Bermuda Races that started near New London, Connecticut. Image shows a port beam view of the submarine R-22 underway with five men visible on the deck in front of the sail, at least three men on the sail, and eight men on deck aft of the sail. Two vessels undersail are visible in the background. Information typed on the original negative sleeve: "9901-F" and written: "6/11/23 / Bermuda Races / Submarine R 22 / Box 912".
