Black and white photograph 4in by 4 7/8in. Reverse inscription: “56”. Taken from the YANKEE’s bow looking aft. Likely the first image taken after YANKEE’s departure, as the vessel appears to have just cast-off. A large crowd of people look on and several people stand in the foreground on the schooner’s deck. October 30, 1939 (departure day).
