The silhouette of a camel and a person working in a rough stone structure, captioned "Grinding Corn." The photo was taken in Egypt. The camel seems to be harnessed to a grindstone. The word corn here might mean grain, perhaps traditional Egyptian grains like wheat or sorghum, although maize was also readily adopted in Egypt after its arrival from North America. From an album of photos from a 1908 voyage to the Mediterranean on the CARPATHIA.
