A photograph looking toward Rhoda Island in Cairo near the Nilometer, with the caption "Moses' hiding place." A 1907 Cairo guidebook explains that a stretch of shoreline here is considered in Arabic tradition to be the place where Moses was pulled from the river by Pharoah's daughter. There are several boats in view. From an album of photos of a 1908 trip to the Mediterranean on the CARPATHIA.
