A news photograph of the MORRO CASTLE wreck at Asbury Park, with editor's photo crop marks. The photograph shows a crowd gathered on the beach to see the hulk, which is still smoking. The ship grounded the same day as the fire, September 8, 1934, and the next day a crowd of 250,000 people reportedly visited Asbury Park to see it. The back of the photograph shows the photograph was taken by Acme Newspictures, Inc., and it has a date stamp of Sep 10, 1934 with the word Daily written in pencil. Someone has glued a newspaper headline to the photograph, which refers to the crowd of 250,000 "yesterday."
