One of a set of 8 photographs of the MORRO CASTLE taken on September 8, 1934, the day of the disaster, after the wreck had grounded off Asbury Park. This one was taken from the vicinity of the stern and shows the ropes that were used by workers to access the ship. The ship's name and the date 9-8-34 are written on the front in red pen, and on the back it says "The 'Morro Castle' beached off the end of Asbury Park Convention Hall, caught fire on Sep. 8, 1934 with a loss of 124 lives."
