A luncheon menu from the MORRO CASTLE from March 17, 1932, decorated with images from New York City. The lunch offerings are lavish, especially given that this was in the midst of the Great Depression, with appetizers, multiple fish and meat entrees, a variety of side dishes and salads, several desserts, and a cheese course. One surprising element on this dish is the choice of after-dinner drinks-- tea, Americancoffee, Cuban coffee, or fresh buttermilk. Buttermilk was very popular in this time period and was seen as a health food and even a diet food. Cuban coffee is a sweetened espresso.
