A passenger list from the Philco company cruise of May 26, 1933 from New York to Havana on the MORRO CASTLE. Philco was the leading radio manufacturer in this time period, and the cruise was a convention for retailers and other guests. The welcome message on the second page emphasizes the optimism of the moment: "Philco retailers have made more money than any other group of radio dealers in America and that is the reason for your presence here today on the Morro Castle." Of the 393 people listed, there appears not to be a single woman. The cover of the passenger includes the Ward Line's usual art deco design, and it is bound with green string. The crew is listed on the last page, with Commodore Joseph E. Jones in command. It also includes Chief Officer William F. Warms and Chief Engineer Eban S. Abbott, both of whom were convicted on criminal charges in relation to the 1934 fire on the MORRO CASTLE.
