A color lithograph print by Francisque Poulbot of the LUSITANIA disaster. It shows a frightened child in a life preserver with the name LUSITANIA, at sea and about to be engulfed by a wave. In the background is a mast with a British flag. The drawing is captioned "Maman! Maman! Pourquoi?" meaning "Mommy! Mommy! Why?" Poulbot is known for his patriotic and anti-German drawings during WWI, and this is one example. It is signed in pencil and is numbered 7/100. This print was used on postcards.
