Stand for flying fish from Pitcairn Island (2010.11.365.1). Likely Pacific rosewood or milo (Thespesia populnea). Lathe-turned spindle set on rectangular base with “x” markings around top edge. Gifted to R.A. Dillon February/March 1940 (see Around the World in the YACHT YANKEE (Dillon 1943:18-21). Overall: 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/8 in.
