Page from the album of Dr. Blackmarr, a passenger on the CARPATHIA who assisted in the rescue of TITANIC passengers and documented the events. It shows icebergs on the horizon. On the photo, taken from the deck of the CARPATHIA, he has written "Most beautiful/ "Temples" of ice/ Cities of skyscrapers," with arrows pointing to the icebergs. Also very visible in this photograph is the solid ice sheet that he and other witnesses described seeing in the distance that morning.
