Leather document holder embossed with the Great Seal of the United States and Herbert F. Thorley’s name. Folds in thirds, secured with leather strap. Contained military discharge documents (sent to GWBW); blank service record (2022.58.1.1) and photograph of Thorley (2022.58.1.2) held in left and right interior pockets. Right interior pocket embossed “Presented by / Malden Electric Company”. Thorley served in the marines during World War II; fought and survived the Battle of Guadalcanal.
