Main sail made from Grecian Cotton manufactured by Ratsey and Lapthorn, Inc., for Nantucket Indian sailboat, built c. 1920, purchased by donor's father Reynold Thomas Jr. in 1961. Red patch sewn into the sail of the silhouette of a Native American's head; the number "17" also sewn into the sail with red fabric. Overall fair condition; sail is very yellowed and worn, has been patched in numerous places; metal hooks and rivets have oxidized. Overall: 256 x 162 x 308 3/8 in.
