Grecian Cotton Sails

Spinnaker main sail made from Grecian Cotton manufactured by Ulmer Sailmakers, for Nantucket Indian sailboat, built c. 1920, purchased by donor's father Reynold Thomas Jr. in 1961. Maker's labels sewn and stamped to the corner of the foot for L.C.A. Sail and Ulmer Sailmakers visible; faded stamp "CONN DISTRICTS" [?] also visible in foot corner. Overall fair condition; sail is very yellowed and worn, has been patched in numerous places; metal hooks and rivets have oxidized. Clip from left corner detached, placed with sail and tagged. Overall: 230 x 230 x 157 1/2 in.
