White cardboard matchbook cover illustrated with emblem of French flag with profile of a cruiser, “FRANCE” printed above and “French Line” printed below; printed on the lower edge of the top cover “CLOSE COVER BEFORE STRIKING”. Reverse illustrated with a woman’s hand holding a glass of champagne, “le Champagne / C’EST LA FRANCE” written below; printed along bottom edge “MATCH CORP. OF AMERICA - CHICAGO / MADE IN U.S.A.” All twenty matches remain. Overall fair condition; surface dirty. Overall: 2 x 1 1/2 x 1/4 in.
