The Penquin, 11’5” length, 4’8 3/4” beam, 3’9” draft. Weight of 180 lbs. and a sail area of 72 sq. ft. Hull: plywood or fiberglass reinforced plastic. Designer: Philip L. Rhodes, 1938. Racing crew of 1 or 2. Actively raced in New England, Long Island Sound and New Jersey. International Penguin association formed later on.
