FURNITURE & FURNISHINGS
before 1850

Nine fragments of wallpaper, mounted with tape (some loose) on paper sheet with typed heading "Wallpaper from the Charles W. Morgan / A Rough interpretation of the design and coloration", encased in a plastic sheet, all taped to a cardboard support with an unattached, cardboard cover, labeled in black marker pen "Please/DO NOT CRUSH/OR BEND/Paint + Wallpaper Samples/CHARLES W. MORGAN/2/80"; pieces vary from 1/4" to 2" square; assessed in 1980, as part of a paint analysis, as possibly the first decorative treatment to the bulkhead between 2nd and 3rd mates' stateroom; samples have been compromised, making determination of original colors and pattern impossible.
