Metal plate mounted on wood below reads "PRESENTED TO/ RUDOLPH J. SCHAEFER/ BY THE CORPS OF CADETS/ UNITED STATES COAST GUARD ACADEMY/ SEPTEMBER 1970". On back of shield metal plate printed "A PRODUCT OF/ CREST-CRAFT/ PROVIDENCE R. I."
