Coconut shell dipper with a whalebone handle, the ivory end of which resembles and eagle's head. There is a dark wood ring between the eagle's head and the rest of the handle. On the pewter fitting which attaches the bowl to the handle, "Pat. Jan. 4, 1868" (Could be 1888).
