George Washington Tusk: scrimshaw walrus tusk, pierced at the tip, and an important unfinished work by N.S. Finney featuring portraits of George Washington (after Gilbert Stuart) and Ulysses S. Grant, with the incomplete pointillist shading on the faces - characteristic of and virtually identical with Finney's other known works - revealing the artists methods and the sequence of steps in his engraving.
