Parasol with whalebone handle and finial, metal ribs and shaft, white silk fabric. Ivory handle is carved with a rope motif; ivory finial is carved in a knobbed design, like thorns or branches. White silk canopy has scalloped bottom edge (and is torn and frayed). Metal ribs and shaft with spring lock mechanism to hold parasol open. The name "MENDENHALL" is visible in faded red or pink handwriting along the handle.
