Crimper. Handle and spiked crimper (in place of a wheel) are bone. Upright post with wheel top and wood base. Base carved to resemble monkey head with ivory leaf. Three nails near monkey' head, bearing a resemblance to a jacket. The monkey head and monkey jacket (possibly intended as a pun on "monkey jacket" in a nautical usage) are extremely unusual, perhaps unique. Inscription 'Here's to our wives and sweethearts - may they never meet'. The motto is a toast from the 18th Century, perhaps most notably (among other places) in Nelson's Navy and the Napoleonic Wars. 8 spiked wheel. Stock is in 2 pieces.
